Beautiful story to read to children before bed to put them in a good mood before heading off to sleep
“I‘ll love you forever, I‘ll like you for always, as long as I‘m living my baby you‘ll be.”
This is a classic story about the love between mother and child. The mother sings the same song to her child every night before they go to sleep. In adulthood, the roles flip and the child becomes the parent and sings the song to the new child.
“The son grew old and grew old and grew old. And one day he called up his mother and said. 'Mom, you're getting older.“
This book can help me teach a lesson on life cycles and growth because the book portrays different stages of life, from childhood to old age. I could even do an activity with my students by having them create their own timeline and illustrate the different stages of their life.
This book was published in 1986 and is a heartwarming children‘s book that falls within the genre of picture books and family life stories. The story follows the evolving relationship between a mother and her son, with the mother repeatedly expressing her unconditional love as she cares for him through all stages of life.
“I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be.“

July 23 #SummerSpecial Mother/Son when I first read this book, I had just given birth to my twins, I was overwhelmed and tired and so totally cried. But later on, I kind of thought the mom was a little creepy, lol . I still love this book, and I sing the so g like Robert Munch sings it. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
February 1 #InQuotes Forever This is my favorite Forever quote of all. I cried when I first read this book. And I always sing it as did Robert Munch with the recording he did of his books. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Turning to my littens for some book recs today! Recently found out I'm having a baby boy and realized I don't know many mother/son stories... Is it just me, or does the father/son relationship take precedence in our media?? 🤔 Any suggestions out there for good mother/son books? Especially if the son is middle grade/teen! I know gender means very little, but I still feel this is a void in my reading life now. HELP!
On this weeks Book Interrupted‘s Manuscript Monday Lindsay reviews Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. Check it out here: https://www.bookinterrupted.com/post/manuscript-monday-love-you-forever
February 23 #Ithadtobeyou Family Love. When I first read this book I was pregnant with my twins, I read to my first two daughters age 7 and 3 at the time and cried. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever read. A little obsessive by the mother but her sons love was beautiful. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

One of my favorites ❤️ Love you forever- this RF, AS is a sweet book for children to read at school while they miss their parents. Robert Munsch‘s wife miscarried several of their unborn babies, and every time she miscarried, she sung this song wrote in the book. He put their feelings into this book and that‘s why I love it so.. https://www.classroomnook.com/blog/author-study-activities UDL: 9.2 Facilitate personal coping skills and strategies
Been MIA for this last year and failed miserably at my Goodreads challenge (8/65 how shameful) but all for a pretty good reason I‘d say ♥️ our family grew by +1 this July 👶🏻 here‘s to a better reading journey in 2021!
My dad passed away this week and the funeral is today. Send good thoughts and prayers if you have them. It‘s been a hard week. ❤️
#Wondrouswednesday @Eggs 🌺Robert Munsch of course! I saw him live once🙂 🌺sigh I keep getting distracted from my reading challenges- I am such a mood reader 🌺🤦♀️I may have bought a few boxfuls from Book Outlet...don‘t tell my husband lol

This classic my parents used to read to me & I plan to read to my children. I read this book while in Botswana & the children were in awe. A RF story about a baby growing up. I would RA to my students for that warm & fuzzy feeling inside. I would incorporate the song & word searches to review the vocabulary as presented in the resource. #UCFLAE3414SP20
Everything has been so crazy. But my mother died last week. Five months after I lost my baby Milo. In the middle of this damn pandemic. I‘m trying to make a thousand calls and get what I want out of her apartment, which is a hoarded mess and she hid things. I‘ve never felt more alone.

My favorite book for my favorite little boy 👦 I got this thigh tattoo back in May and wanted to put a Rowan tree around it or somehow incorporate it into this tattoo somehow. My sons name is Rowan and I think it would look pretty neat once it‘s all done ✅ This book means the world to me and I say this saying every night to my son before bed. A mother‘s love has no limits 🥰
This RF book is another one by my absolute favorite author, Robert Munsch. This book absolutely must be approached with caution when reading to children as it deals with the heavy themes of aging, illness, and death. This story follows a mother and son as they grow through their years and face many changes, although one thing remains constant for them: their love for each other #ucflae3414f19
As I was looking through some of my Mum‘s boxes today I found this lovely book with a note attached to it. The note read “Now don‘t you wish you‘d let me teach you German?” 🤣She always liked having the last word! It was published in 1928.
Just going through some boxes that belonged to my Mum. These are the first poetry books she ever read to me ❤️
when the son ends up having his own child and singing the repeated song, “i‘ll love you forever. i‘ll like you for always. as long as i‘m living, my baby you‘ll be” it was super sweet and a good end to the story.
as I was reading this story I couldn‘t help but picture myself reading it to my own children one day. The mom really loves her son, and the son loves her back, and you can tell how special of a feeling it is by reading.
This is an adorable story of a little boy growing up. I remember reading it as a kid, and my parents remember it too. It was published in 1986, and is still being read often which I think is cool. It has a soothing song in it that repeats throughout the story- the mom sings it to him. Eventually the story progresses long enough to where the roles switch: mom is old and needs taken care of, son is now capable adult thanks to mom.
Last night my Mum passed away. She was the one who gave me the gift of books and love of reading. She helped me get a library card when I was 4, read to me everyday, and read with me as I grew older. Even as I mourn her passing I know that I will always find her in the pages of a book. Words she loved, stories that captured her, and characters that became her friends. I love you Mum ❤️❤️❤️
I want to love you, and treat you right
I want to love you, every day and every night🎶

@Crazeedi my favorite childhood memory has to be when my mama used to read to me every night this was are favorite book. I love you @texasgirl as long as I'm living my mommy you'll be!💖 #50kcelebration
I was trying to think about what books inspired me. And two kept coming to my mind and both are children‘s books. Both about giving of ourselves to those we love.
Reading from a parental standpoint versus watching my children as they hear from theirs. Same story, different perspectives. Inspire all of us to do a little more for someone. 💗
Most of us know we'll have to take care of our parents one day, but we never know how hard it will be until we're in it. My mom had me young, so my grandmother always took care of us both. Now she's really sick, and we're taking care of her. Recently, as we sat with her between us, each rubbing her back, my mom quoted this book in a whisper. We both tried to hide our tears from her. We never grasped the gravity of this childhood classic until now.
@texasgirl oh how this brings up sweet sweet memories! I love you mama forever and always! As long as I'm living my mommy you'll be!💖💖💖💖
Love you Forever by Robert Munsch is a great book to read as a kid! I actually read this book EVERY night with my mom and it‘s my all time favorite childhood book. Every night before bed my mom and I would say to each other the “I‘ll love you forever” lines. This book is about the unconditional love between a boy and his mom no matter what. At the end of the book the roles have flipped as he rocks his old mother to sleep. Here is an interactive
I‘m an auntie!!! Already so in love with this little guy 🥰
My daughter reads “Love You Forever” to my granddaughter for the first time. I read this to her often when she was young. After she read it, she broke into tears of joy. Very touching story about the love of a mother and son through the cycle of life.
The mom in this book took care of her little boy her whole life and then when he grew up and she got older he took care of her. This is a great book to read to little kids because this is real life testify that will happen to a lot of your students and sends a really good message to the kids.
