The soul is the ultimate human mystery.

Another interesting little book. This one explores the many different beliefs about the soul. A lot of nice illustrations. Fairly quick read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Although I am not a ghost hunter or haunted house explorer, I do like to read about the experiences of people who pursue this kind of paranormal investigation. This book covers a wide range of subjects and at the end of it there are suggestions on how to become more open to psychic phenomena. The author is British and the writing is very good. Five stars.

Not really a pick, but also not so-so. The art style is beautiful, and the story is interesting (though oddly paced) watching Amparo navigate a hostile spirit-y world that just wants to eat them. For a book with love in the title, the relationship pictured on the cover feels extremely underdeveloped. Love the world building! #LGBTQ #Comic #SpiritWorld

I read this one for a Japanese culture class. It was a very fun, often whimsical read, and our professor used it as an example of history that gets left out of Japan's textbooks (every country seems to have these types of omissions). I really enjoyed the symbolism, and the translator's style. I wish the wife had been allowed to be more of a character. #whimsical #spirit #spiritworld #magic?

LauraJ Female characters are not Murakami‘s strength, but I love his books anyway. 5y
Kenyazero @LauraJ I started wondering that as I started IQ84! I haven't read much of his work yet, but I've enjoyed what I've read. 5y
