suvata @Cuilin when I was reading it, I was pretty sure it would be a three or four star at best. By the time I was done it was clearly a five star book. 1d

rjsthumbelina I ended up LOVING this book. The early part can be a bit slow, but it's really engrossing once it picks up. And I loved that I learned so much about the time period that I hadn't known. Ruta Sepetys does her homework, for sure 5y

Kimberlone I loved this book! Way better than the average YA, and an effective historical fiction on par with adult fiction. I learned so much about the period from this book! 5y
