This Caldecott Medal, Jane Addams PB award winning B book is about how a historical figure, Martin Luther King Jr., used his words to protest for equal rights for all African American people. Growing up, all MLK Jr. saw was “Whites Only” signs everywhere, and he wanted change. His BIG words made BIG changes for the future of America! This would be great during a history lesson in February for Black History month.

Ashley_B UDL design 5.1 (Use multiple media for communication) and ESOL strategy 28 (Provide biographies of significant men and women from different countries).
