In a mysterious mood so I bought two highly anticipated (by me) mysteries today. And now I can't seem to make up my mind. Neither can my cat, although I'm sure he thinks they both belong to him. Thoughts, Littens? #crowdsourcingmytbr #again #catsopinionsdontcount
Johanna414 Read the first chapter of each and keep going with whichever you can't put down 8y

rubyslippersreads I think the cat is definitely choosing Magpie Murders, assuming it's a manual. 😸 8y
PatriciaU Ooh! I just bought Magpie too! Planning to read it this weekend. 8y
LiteraryinPA Selfishly I vote for you to read Magpie first so you can review it since it's one I think I want to read. ☺️ 8y
ferskner Magpie Murders! It's great! 8y
Laalaleighh @Librarybelle @PatriciaU @LiteraryinLititz @ferskner magpie murders it is! Thanks y'all! 8y
Laalaleighh @rubyslippersreads 😹😹😹 that's hilarious. 8y
NovelGirl82 I'm a huge Grisham fan, although I'm behind on my Grisham reading, so I'm sure that will be great. Magpie looks interesting! 8y
Laalaleighh @NovelGirl82 I started reading Grisham at 12 and couldn't stop. He's from my home state and alma mater! (And my alma maters rival for grad school ha) 8y
NovelGirl82 I was about the same age when I started reading him (I know it was mid school). My dad was a big Grisham reader, so I grabbed his copies & loved them! 8y
Laalaleighh @novelgirl82 I think Grisham books are a requirement in MS. My grandparents knew him so that might be why we had so many Haha. 8y
PatriciaU @Laalaleighh what did you think of this book? I finished the other night. Kind of mixed feelings about it. 8y
Laalaleighh @PatriciaU I'm about 4/5ths done with it right now. I'm loving it so far but very curious to see where it all ends up. Reading the letter from the sister at the moment! Will definitely let you know what I thought when I finish! 8y
NovelGirl82 Haha! Oh yeah! I'm originally from North LA, & I think my dad loved that he was a great southern author. I actually considered going to Ole Miss, but decided to keep with my legacy status at LA Tech. 8y
Laalaleighh @NovelGirl82 haha you didn't miss anything by skipping out on ole miss! (They're our sworn, bitter rivals) the campus is beautiful and the square is great but that's about the only good things there are to say about it. I can't tell you how many people I know transferred out of there. I considered it growing up too, but the first thing any student ever asked me during my first visit was "what does your daddy do"? like, before they asked my name (edited) 8y
NovelGirl82 They probably wouldn't have liked my answer- slumlord! 😂😂😂 I probably wouldn't have fit in with my parents business being owning low income housing (made a hell of a living at it, though!). No, I'm a proud Louisiana Tech Bulldog, just like that same dad. My first choice was Tulane. I got in, but couldn't afford it. So, do you still live in MS? 8y
Laalaleighh @NovelGirl82 haha. They would have just heard real estate developer tbh. I don't, I'm in Virginia now with my bf who's finishing up grad school and the we're off to D.C. for his job. We go back every now and then for weddings and such but we're both pretty happy to be somewhere new! 8y
NovelGirl82 We ended up moving to NM & I went to high school there. That's how I initially ended up in west TX. They're both quite a change from the deep south. Not necessarily an unpleasant one, when you don't hold to some of their more unpleasant ways of thinking. (Like my getting laughed at because I read all the time & am a "nerd", even though I'm more of an athlete than any of them) My whole family is still in LA, though. 8y
