Pickpick

I thought this was excellent! I could feel myself waiting, tense for the real story to show itself, and it didn‘t disappoint me. I loved what it had to say about marriage and relationships. How one person doesn‘t feel seen or heard. I loved the ending. I saw the movie the day after I finished the book and I loved that too. The ending was different but for once it didn‘t annoy me as I could appreciate how this new ending added a whole new spin ⬇️

Rissreads On the story. Reid helped write the movie version and said that he loved exploring the new ending. I do feel that you would have maybe not enjoyed the movie as much without reading the book as it provides you with a lot more information. Anyway as always I seem to love these weird, f#cked up story‘s based in the future. I did have an ulterior motive for watching the film as my daughter played a waitress but alas you couldn‘t see her. Centique How wonderful that your daughter was in it though! Well done to her 🙌 12mo
Reggie I read Apt Pupil which has a wayyyyyu different ending than the movie and sometimes I think the difference just works. I think if it was made now they wouldn‘t change the ending though. Great review! 12mo

Bailedbailed

REVIEWING OUTER PERIMETER NOT FIRST EVIDENCE. There are scary aliens in this book, but mostly it reads like a very long and boring X-Files movie. But that is not why I bailed. This author sets the story in SW OR but apparently thinks the weather there is like NE WA. Nope, you do not get subzero temps there unless maybe you are standing on top of a mountain. Worse, he writes about a character with a cat and has clearly never owned a cat. It's as ⏬

LitStephanie if he wrote the scenes with a small dog and then used the find and replace function to swap dog words for cat words. The dialog is sometimes also unrealistic, as when a woman yells at her friend/sometimes lover "you made love to her!" when the natural phrasing would have been something like "you f$#cked an alien lady, are you out of your damn mind?!" 2y
