I‘m driving to see family tomorrow, so tonight I‘m staying up late making knotted blankets for Christmas and drinking ALL THE TEA! On the bright side, the new teas I just got are really good, and this gives me a convenient opportunity to watch two more movie adaptations of Hamlet! #ShakespeareReadalong #allthetea #craftingtilmyeyeswontstayopen
tricours Knotted blankets? 7y
LeahBergen I love your mug. ❤️ 7y
Bookish.Heart A few years ago I made everyone in my family one of these blankets. After I was done I never wanted to see another one! 😋 Everyone loved them though! 7y

batsy Yes, cool mug! And I need to catch up on all the adaptations, too. Do let us know which one were your favourites 😊 7y
readinginthedark @tricours You take one or two pieces of cloth (usually flannel) and cut strips along the sides, then double knot the strips. It‘s a no-sew DIY blanket kind of thing. My son wanted to give each of his cousins one this year but got tired of helping. 😆 7y
readinginthedark @LeahBergen @batsy Thank you! My mom gave it to me. 😊 It has scenes from all of Austen‘s novels. I don‘t use it very often because it‘s china, but it felt right tonight. 7y
readinginthedark @Bookish.Heart I know what you mean! They‘re so comfy, but my wrist hurts like nobody‘s business from all the cutting. I‘m only making five and it‘s taking forever; I can‘t imagine making thirty (that would be my siblings and their spouses and kids)! 🙈 7y
readinginthedark @batsy I haven‘t seen most of these adaptations; they‘re so good! So far, I‘ve watched four, and I have four left to watch (not including R & G Are Dead or the Benedict Cumberbatch version, which isn‘t available on DVD yet 😭). I‘ll probably make a post of each set of two or three and then pick a favorite. 7y
Texreader I love making those blankets! 7y
tricours No sewing? Where‘s the fun in that? 😁 7y
Eggs Love knotted blankets-good project for kids as well 7y
readinginthedark @tricours 😆It‘s been years since I‘ e sewn, but I should pick it up again! 7y
readinginthedark @Texreader @Eggs I think it would be fun to make one once in a while—not so much a bunch at once. It was my son‘s idea, but he bailed after half of the second one. I‘m glad to be done with them for now, but I‘m sure I‘ll make more soon! 7y
