Bailedbailed

Another bail from serial reader. I‘m not having any luck with them so far this year.
If you are Welsh, a St. George Illawarra Dragons fan, or if you came to your love of dragons through peaceful means (How to Train Your Dragon, Jane and the Dragon, etc) DO NOT read this book. This is almost cliche evil dragon, we must be rescued by a hero crap. The writing is nice as it‘s from 1901, but it‘s also sexist as hell because it‘s from 1901. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics It started with “you‘re clever for a girl” and deteriorated to “no real hero is a girl.” I really wanted to stick this out, but I couldn‘t do it anymore. My loving, friendly, miniature Scottish dragon trio (pictured above with my cousin‘s daughter) was highly offended by this book. You don‘t want to know what they think the title of this book should be. #thenookofdragons #edithnesbit #serialreader #fail #bail 5y
ravenlee I was incredibly disappointed with this one when I read it a couple months ago. 5y
GingerAntics @ravenlee I am so glad I‘m not the only one. I figured the view of dragons had probably changed in the last 118 years so I wasn‘t so worried about that other than it was annoying, but then the sexist jabs came in and I was shocked since it was written by a woman. I just couldn‘t bring myself to keep reading it. 5y

Laughing, because the greedy person that came to mind first also looks like he‘s had four helpings of pudding on MANY occasions (possibly at every opportunity).
