panWell-researched, technically well-written, but the suspense suffers greatly with all the meandering (771 pages isn't unheard of, but there isn't quite enough plot to fill them). It's all a bit joyless and nasty, and London is apparently crammed full of jerks.
However, there is a man with no eyelids, if that waves your flag at all.
