Happy National Library Week! Here‘s a shout-out to the wonderful Libraries of Houston, especially those that had to rescue books and recover from Hurricane Harvey flooding! #lovelibraries #nationallibraryweek #houstonstrong

JackOBotts
The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah

Although a work of fiction, The Nightingale's tale of sisters during WWII is one of #courage and it's many faces. Isabelle & Vianne may not be real, but there were many real women taking bold steps to undermine the Nazi regime and join the resistance.

Thanks to @BekahPat for hosting a #nonfictionnovember giveaway. (And congrats on the Astros' win! #Houstonstrong. ⚾️)

BekahPat This book is currently sitting on my coffee table to be read! I am looking so forward to it! @Hollie 7y
tpixie It was inspired by the story of a Belgian woman, Andrée de Jongh, who helped downed Allied pilots to escape Nazi territory. ?According to Wikipedia!! 7y
JackOBotts @tpixie thanks for the info...I'll have to search her to read more. Inspiring. @BekahPat @Hollie I enjoyed it immensely; intense subject matter (goes without saying), but wonderfully done. I think you'll enjoy it, as well. 7y

Pickpick

This sweet little book about unconditional love makes a cute gift, so I added it to our donation bag for our closest Hurricane Harvey shelter. Houston will be digging out for a long time, and so many are doing more than I am, but it felt good to get out and do something! #houstonstrong #longroadback
