Maybe I've just had a case of bad luck this week but I've come across a lot of readers online who shame ppl for buying books on Amazon/B&N. And like, I get the problem with these companies & how they have shitty practices & squash out indie store competition. But some people cannot afford books any other way. If it's not at the library, I either use Amazon or can't read it at all. It's like, don't let privilege blind you from reality, yh? 😕😓

Notafraidofwords I get what you mean. 8y
SarahSaysRead Yeah, don't let them bug you. Readers are (and should feel) free to use whatever means work for them to acquire their books. 8y

Moray_Reads It's hard to find a balance with these things. Not all options are open to everyone so people shouldn't judge. Books should be for everyone, get then however you can 💕📚 8y
LeahBergen Hmph! ? People should be cognizant of that whole "walk a mile in another's shoes" thing before they open their mouths. 8y
BookishMarginalia I'm an equal opportunity book buyer myself. We buy from our 2 local indies, but also from Costco, Amazon, Book Depository, and BN. We would do #BOMC if it shipped to Puerto Rico, and we loved the local branches of Borders. 8y
[DELETED] 1409720085 I live in a small town where there is literally no bookstore. I buy books where I can get them and I buy a lot of kindle books because that is how I like to read. I think the most important thing is that people are reading. However they choose to buy or borrow. 8y
