The Godfather | Mario Puzo

I‘ve been listening to the audiobook of The Godfather whenever I‘ve been out walking. I know it‘s partly based on real people but I wonder if that is what the mafia was actually like? My feelings are mixed, I hate the way women are treated in the book but I guess that‘s partly due to it being written in the 60s. I‘m still finding it quite a compelling read though! If you‘ve read it I‘d be fascinated to know your thoughts!

Christine11 @anoplph0ra I‘m about 2/3 of the way through - you‘re right, it is definitely getting worse. It‘s just shocking to me how ok they all seem to be with horrific domestic violence 🙁 8y
