This sci fi novel reminded me of Becky Chambers' Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet in the questions both books raised about the "humanness" of AIs and the strangeness of gender. Ancillary Justice is way grittier and more serious, so I loved it in a different way. It's a first novel; I'll forgive it a little wobbliness in a few places. I will definitely read the next two in the Radch trilogy. The ending left me so excited for what happens next!
