Day 21 of self-isolating with kiddo (I‘ve read too much #speculativefiction to miss the signs & got paranoid early), but today is the first time I‘ve managed a #naptimeread since February.
It‘s been hard to read fiction these last few weeks. I‘ve been sick & also prepping the eventual lockdown, which is why I haven‘t been very active on Litsy.

pickToday‘s #naptimeread was a WINNER. One of six novellas in this Blake Crouch curated collection, I had no choice but to read Nora‘s first & she did not disappoint.
In an effort to avoid spoilers, I will only mention that some might find the work a bit too on the nose/heavy handed. I am not one of those people.

pickAn arc that has run through the last several books comes to completion. Gamache fights corruption within trying to discover how deep it goes and continues to fight for Beauvoir. He also solves the mystery of the murder of a famous Quebec woman. The story that inspired that plot point is one I remember looking at seeing pictures of as a child - I won‘t offer more details to avoid spoilers. A very satisfying journey with Gamache. #naptimeread
