Read for bookclub. This was a fascinating story! I found it a bit too much telling, and not enough showing, but it still had me lost in its pages. Based on the life of poet Emilia Bassano in Elizabethan England, this tells the story of a woman who MAY have been behind some of Shakespeare‘s works (according to Picoult‘s research.) Don‘t miss the author‘s notes at the end! 3.5 ⭐️
