pickRed Harvest is a classic exploration of corruption and violence in the American grain. Hammett is a master of the noir detective crime novel. Characters are definitely unique. He was a Pinkerton Detective and his Continental Op is an example of that era. Dinah Brand is a 'gutsy broad' popular in the 1920's. Looking forward to reading The Glass Key novel. Recommend this to those who love noir crime.
