I love art books. I'm not gonna lie- I was too lazy to take them off the shelf (they're way at the top and heavy!) so I just took a pic of the shelf mostly as-is (I tossed in a few that were on another shelf) but there you have it. #artrelatedbooks (Non-fiction). My husband brought me this book home from the library one evening and I knew nothing at all about the plot when I started it. Nicole Dennis-Benn's writing and use of Jamaican dialect did not disappoint. It's a sad story of exploitation in post-colonial Jamaica. A quote by the main character, Margot, says it all, "This is no paradise, at least not for us." #setonanisland #seasonsreadins2016
