pickWith racial tensions continuing to rise within the US, this book & many others like it are so important to help with a much needed dialogue. I posted a much longer stream of consciousness about this book on Instagram (same handle for those who are interested) & I received a racially motivated response to the title of the book: “When you were picking cotton in the fields.” Rather than respond I alerted Instagram & blocked the user. #takethehighroad
