Wow. Yes. More please! The art style, the humour, the world building, the mix of wholesome moments and truly dire circumstances. Y2K as the jumping off point for a very different, magical outcome. The twist! It's a lot packed into one story. I don't know that I'd consider this plot rushed, I think I just wish there was more of everything. Each part of the quest, definitely more of Daisy and benign toad tossing. ☺️ ⚠️Animal death

I won book 5 in a LibraryThing giveaway and thought I‘d catch up on the series while I wait for my copy. This was an adorable quick read about a boy that moves to a new city, discovers a fruit bat in his bedroom, and makes friends with his neighbors. Oh, and then there‘s the pigeon. 😂

Again, I love these books! This one was especially interesting as it addresses the topic of grief and mental illness/confusion in a way that children can understand and learn to sympathize with those who suffer from such heartache. It also teaches responsibility and the hardships but also rewards of growing up to be someone who protects others. #52challenge
