“I love you. Most ardently.” What can I say about this book that hasn‘t already been said? In short, this book is the perfect example of what “romance” novels have lost today. Characters with flaws who become better people by overcoming those flaws instead of being told “it‘s okay” or “people should just accept you”. Okay I‘m getting off of my soap box (comment below for more thoughts) but this is a truly perfect book in every way #52challenge

When I first read this book I truthfully was a bit disappointed with my dear Jane Austin and felt this wasn‘t her best work. Then I found out that she wrote it when she was only 14!!! I shall never doubt such a beloved author again. So is it amazing? No… but it is worth reading and is still impressive considering the age and experience of the author as this was also her first book. #52challenge

“Our library isn‘t very expensive. But every book in it is a friend.” I absolutely loved seeing Anne become a wife and mother in this book. The first half of this book made my heart sore and sometimes cry. I will admit, about half way through the story I feel like Anne became an observer as apposed to the main character. It‘s still a great book though and I dearly love relate to a the newly wed wife and the dreams of her home.

“Gilbert darling, don‘t let‘s ever be afraid of things. Let‘s be daring and adventurous and expectant. Let‘s dance to meet life and all it can bring us.” The beloved story continues as Anne returns home and takes her place in the community she grew up in. I enjoyed revisiting old friends in seeing Anne continue to grow into a bold, confident but yet caring woman. #challenge52

“I‘m afraid to speak or move for fear all this wonderful beauty will vanish just like a broken silence.” This book will live forever in my heart. I have vowed to give a copy of this book to every young girl who is going out into the world on her own for the first time. If ever a book could be a friend, this one would be. With its lessons of pain and joy that comes with becoming oneself and building a life in this world. #52challenge

The second book in the beloved Anne of Green Gables series teaches the lesson of growing up and the transition from being a child who is invested into to an adult who now can invest in others. #52challenge

“Isn‘t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.” If there is one fictional character that I relate with and love above all others, it would most definitely be Anne. This is easily one of my favorite books and its lessons have a very special place in my heart. That life, no matter how hard it may be, is as beautiful as you choose to see it as and that the people you love are the truest richest of life. #52challenge

I recently re-read this book and I have to say, it still holds up. This was a very inspiring and exciting book back in High School and though as an adult I can see that this was written for a young adult audience and is at times unrealistic, I still found it very entertaining and intriguing. There‘s definitely a reason this series was so popular. #challenge

Even though I do prefer the original 3 books, I will admit that I greatly enjoyed this book. Without spoiling anything, I really appreciated how this book was written. It‘s a very good “bad guy” origin story because it doesn‘t make you cheer for the villain but yet it does allow you to understand and even sympathies with him without justifying his evil. I also found it interesting that there are actually no true heroes in this book. #52challenge

I love C. S. Lewis… but this book was just weird. The first book in this series was “Ok” but this one felt like a drug trip through allegorical theology. I know the message Lewis was trying to get across but it was just poorly executed. This was a difficult read that I had to force myself to finish even though it was relatively short. #52challenge

I would give this book a 6/10. The story concept and the description of the world was very interesting. However, for as short as this book was, it was really hard to motivate myself to finish it. I love C. S. Lewis, but I feel like in this book he was still trying to perfect the skill of allegory, which he obviously masters by the Narnia series. #52challenge

I‘m not saying I hated this book. In fact the idea of the story is very fascinating and I was excited to read it. Unfortunately though the writing and execution of it as a whole was very lacking. And don‘t get me started on the grammar. With that said, I do hold self publishers with great respect and do not wish to discourage them. #52challenge

This book is very well written and kept my attention locked in from the first page to the last. It has also sparked a curiosity to learn more about this time in American History. However… following such praise I sadly must say that I would not recommend this book. This wasn‘t just a sad book, it was depressing for absolutely no reward. The last book in a perfect series. And what a perfect ending. In this story we see all the lessons from the previous 4 books, courage, self-sacrifice, responsibility, and leadership, come together to complete this beloved hero‘s arch. I hope the many other readers of this book, no matter their age, enjoys these books as much as I did. They are most certainly stories I hope to read to my children someday. #52challenge

These are such amazing books! This story shows our hero now as an adult and learning to be a good role model. It teaches the valuable lesson of passing on wisdom and the lessons we‘ve learned to others who are following in our footsteps. #52challenge

Again, I love these books! This one was especially interesting as it addresses the topic of grief and mental illness/confusion in a way that children can understand and learn to sympathize with those who suffer from such heartache. It also teaches responsibility and the hardships but also rewards of growing up to be someone who protects others. #52challenge

As I said about the first book, I cannot say enough about this series. Amazing story for all ages and great for a family to read together. This is by far the darkest plot of all 5 books and even made me scared of the villain at times but not is a way that would cause nightmares for children. This book teaches the importance of good vs. evil and how doing what is right and protecting those we love sometimes requires self sacrifice. #52challeng

This is the first book in a series of 5 and I cannot say enough about these books. Though they are written for young readers, I greatly enjoyed the read myself. This story teaches the importance of courage and doing what is right even when it‘s scary and difficult. If you‘re looking for a last minute gift for a child in your life I‘d 10/10 recommend this book. Just be prepared to by the rest of the series because they‘ll be hooked. #52challenge

“I‘ve always loved you, Adriene. I just didn‘t know it until I saw you.” What I loved about this book is that neither Blake and Adriene had to compromise their masculine or feminine strengths. Blake can be a protective provider who makes Adriene feel safe without quenching her spirit. And Adriene can be a gentle, bold and steady woman who gives Blake the confidence to do what is right without having to humble him. #52challenge

“Mrs. Allen was one of that numerous class of females, whose society can raise no other emotion than surprise at there being any men in the world who could like them well enough to marry them.” This quote made me laugh out loud!😂 I can always depend on Jane Austin to have savage descriptions of her foolish acting characters. #janeaustin

I found this book very educational and was grateful to find that it wasn‘t as graphic as I expected it to be. It‘s a very facts based book that doesn‘t feel the need to go into the horror of these crimes for dramatic effect. It is by no means a bedtime story but I would recommend it to teens and even young teens who are looking for a reliable source as an entire to this tragic time in history. #52challenge

Historic fiction is by far my favorite genre and this book did not fail to deliver. I was heartbroken, inspired, and most importantly, challenged as to how far I myself would go for what I believe to be truth. Regardless of whether you hold to the beliefs of this Maiden, I would highly recommend giving this book a chance and allowing yourself to experience her life of victory and horror. #52challenge
