Kaye Thank you @Cortg . Chilbury Ladies Choir was really good. That‘s great that you have Summer reading programs for adults too. Makes it more fun for everyone. 7y
Cortg I ❤️ your interest and shout out for libraries and librarians! @Kaye 7y
Kaye Yes, I don‘t think librarians always get the recognition or thanks they deserve. I thought more of them would be interested in sharing more about their job. I like visiting different libraries and seeing what all they do at each one. It‘s fascinating. (edited) 7y

Librarybelle 12. “Adult DVDs? You mean you guys have porn?” “What do you mean I need to give you my name to get a library card? Can‘t I just take the books I want?” So many, many more stories. Let‘s meet up for drinks sometime, or wait until I write my book! 7y
Librarybelle @IamIamIam 📚❤️ 7y
Kaye Thanks @Librarybelle It certainly sounds like you are so enthused about your job. That‘s great. What kind of turnout do you get for the discussion groups ? They have pretty tiny ones in our local libraries. Funny questions. As if a library would offer porn videos. Geez ! Is your library in a small town or large ? 7y
Librarybelle @Kaye I have my hands in so many things at the library, I could probably talk everyone to death. We have a very good turnout for both adult discussions - I have a core group of 8 of us for mystery, with a few people who are hit or miss, and I think I‘m up to 8-10 regulars for historical fiction. I‘m in a small town, Gettysburg, so small but many tourists and lots of foot traffic. 7y
Kaye That‘d be such a neat place to do historical book discussions . That‘s a good turnout too. The ones around here seem to have trouble getting off the ground. Not sure why. I have high hopes for our library downtown. The head librarian is retiring and they e hired a younger girl in her early 40s I‘d guess. She ALWAYS has a book recommendation for you. She‘s quite the reader herself so maybe she‘ll get more things like that going. 7y
Librarybelle @Kaye Hopefully she will! 7y

11. Yep! Sally Walker, Kevin Stein, etc
12. “Isn‘t it a shame there‘s nowhere on campus you can get books without buying them?” 😳

Kaye I bet you have heard some stories about damaged or missing books. Someone actually owed thousands on a fine ? Wow, did they pay it ? 7y
Grrlbrarian It was a professor who retired with over 100 books still missing - and academic books can be pricey. Last I heard, he still hadn‘t paid! 😱 7y
Grrlbrarian The most interesting ‘damaged book‘ story came from a student whose car was stolen and set on fire with his library book inside. He said, “I can bring you the police report and maybe some ashes.” I removed the item from his record! 7y
