It looks like this is a matter of debate in several families. It certainly is here: Is ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ a Halloween or a Christmas book/movie? Personally, I think it works as both and I like to revisit it in October as well December. I‘ve heard a lot of people say though that they see it purely as a Halloween story. What do you think? #thenightmarebeforechristmas #bookwormproblems #thebigquestionsoflife #theanswerisNOT42
julesG It works as both. Though it's a Christmas film for me this year. 5y
DefLeppard @scripturient I have never seen this book so am very jealous but as to the debate I plonk all my nieces and nephews down at both Halloween and Christmas and make them watch it. I mean come on, it's both occasions rolled into one so it just has to be done. Poor kids are so well conditioned by now cos of my obsession with it that they actually ask when we are watching it! 😂 5y
TheKidUpstairs I definitely see it as both. I usually watch it shortly after Halloween, but before all the Christmas stuff has started. It's the perfect transition movie 😁 5y

saresmoore Both! And I agree with @TheKidUpstairs —in that case, why not also watch it on Thanksgiving? 😁 5y
