Jude Deveraux is your classic historical romance author that is synonymous with the genre so the reissue of this time traveling title from the late 80's appealed to me. Sadly, this does not hold up. Instead of a strong female protagonist with a masculine name Dougless, we're treated to a whiny main character and a long winded plot line of a knight and ingenue.. In addition, the ending is terrible and convoluted. Hard pass on this one!
I am happy I discovered Kelley Armstrong. The characters are engaging and the plots are interesting. This is the second in this series and we discover why Rosalind disappears leaving behind her husband and young son. When Rosalind finds a way home after 3 years she devises a plan to ease back into her old life. This story was a bit too complicated and the main characters less developed, but still a satisfying 3 of 5 ⭐️ pick.
I get far too invested in Kelley Armatrong's characters. But I love it. Off to read the next story in the series. #73-2024

4.75⭐
• This book was maybe my favorite because Etienne travels to the future/Selene‘s era and his insatiable need to soak up every little thing he can was so fun to observe. This also had the perfect ending to a time-travel series. Perhaps, the most surprising thing about my reread/listen is that I enjoyed the series so much more the second time around.
• Mason Lloyd & Courtney Patterson both gave amazing performances.
4.75⭐
• I‘m fairly certain that I loved this series more the second time around, I think maybe it's because I didn‘t stress about the time-traveling making sense and just went with it. You have to be able to go with it. Also, I love these characters.
• Mason Lloyd & Courtney Patterson both gave amazing performances, especially with the French language.
5⭐
-time-travel romance
-contemporary/historical
-intriguing&lovable characters
-heat level: 4
-enemies to lovers/meant to be
-I love the aspect of someone being stuck in a “time” that‘s not their own.
-Just don‘t expect a “Dark Matter” level of scientific explanations and go with it; you shouldn‘t be disappointed if this kind of romance is your thing.
-This was a reread on audio!
-NARRATION by Courtney Patterson & Mason Lloyd was terrific.
3.5 Stars • “Winds of Time," is a novella and the third installment in the "After Cilmeri" series by Sarah Woodbury. Meg, a time-traveling character, finds herself once again in medieval Wales after a plane crash. This time, she's alone and must navigate the challenges of the past with the knowledge and maturity she gained from her sixteen years spent in the modern world. ⬇️
