
#NationalPoetryMonth Day 15: César Vallejo died in Paris on April 15, 1938. These events were fictionalized by Bolano in Monsieur Pain. Black Stone Lying On a White Stone is just one of many memorable Vallejo pieces steeped in self-mockery, pity & pathos. Like GM Hopkins, they are nearly unbearable to read for what he reveals about part of the human condition. Link to full poem:
