Enjoyed this for the most part. Occasionally found characters annoying but that's kinda was the Christmas Carol redemption point. Beautiful descriptions of Victorian England. Liked references to the 'new' traditions such as afternoon tea, and Christmas cards. #winterholidayreads

Daisey I‘m listening to this now and finding Dickens himself somewhat annoying. I‘m hoping your point holds true for me because I love the setting and description. 6y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @Daisey Was kinda glad when over but not enough to give it a So So. I was just ready to move on. It won't be one I reread every year. So Many Books, So Little Time. 6y
Daisey I finished this today, and for the most part I agree. It was ok, but it did not wow me and I doubt I will read it again. However, I am going to look up 6y
Crinoline_Laphroaig I'm feeling the need to watch Scrooged.😄 I am interested in the real Dickens. Also going to look up 6y

LOVE stories of others decorating. I wasn't raised celebrating Christmas (that's another post) so I've had to make my own traditions. I have my Pfaltzgraff Winterberry dishes out and Poinsettias everywhere. I reread Blue Christmas every year just for the decorations, music and recipes. Crazy family story is hilarious bonus.
