This was the first time I heard someone outside of my family mention cribbage. I‘ve never met anyone else who knew what it was. It‘s HUGE in my family. I was the last grandchild to learn, and I was always told to look out for my Uncle, because he cheated (ha apparently learned to do that from his uncle). lol I was also told he cheated at Monopoly. 🤷🏼‍♀️

GingerAntics I rather like that some of my favorite fictional characters play cribbage. Now, if I wasn‘t absolutely horrible at it. lol 6y
ravenlee I used to play with my dad, but I remember absolutely nothing about it now. I was 10-12 when we played, but not enough for it to stick with me, I guess. Don‘t know if he cheated (likely, he‘ll cheat at anything) or if he‘s just ruthless (always) but it wasn‘t terribly fun to play with him. 6y
GingerAntics @ravenlee I don‘t know what 10-12 is. I‘m guessing is a version of cribbage. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I barely know how to play standard cribbage. I did discover that it was huge in the Us Navy during WWII. (edited) 6y

ravenlee Sorry - I was 10 to 12 years old, but we didn‘t play often enough for me to remember how. 6y
GingerAntics @ravenlee oh okay. There is actually a cool app called Cribbage with Grandpa that teaches you to play. I‘m hoping it makes me a better player...but it‘s not like I have anyone to play anymore, really. 6y
readinginthedark My family used to play cribbage, but I haven't played it in such a long time; I'm not sure I'd remember how. 6y
GingerAntics @readinginthedark really. Wow. For all these years I‘ve never known a single person who‘d even heard of it and now two people in one night. (edited) 6y
readinginthedark We played a lot of traditional games that came with a wooden board and primary-colored pieces, like Chess, Chinese Checkers, Mancala, etc. 6y
GingerAntics @readinginthedark oh I loved mandala growing up. I wish there were a video version of it for my phone. I would totally play that all the bloody time. I played all of those games at school or my monstesorri daycare. The only games that my family every played were bridge, solitaire, war, and cribbage. Now that I think about it, I think I‘ve missed my calling as a card shark. lol 6y
readinginthedark 🤣 Totally! We played war and solitaire, but I've never played bridge. It is popular with some of my patrons at work; guess I should learn! 6y
GingerAntics I‘ve never known how to play. I could never get anyone to explain it to me, but my grandmother was in at two three bridge clubs. It seemed all her friends played it. He played with my 5th grade teacher once. My mother played at one point. My grandfather played with her at one point. Hm. Maybe we should all learn to play, then be the grannies‘ card shark. 😂 6y
