Just lovely. Both hero and heroine were well developed and the story moved along at a brisk pace.

This one started off a little slowly for me, but I'm so glad I stuck with it because it unfolded into a beautifully-told story. I loved the themes of love, family, loyalty and nourishment. It's an unusual book, and a great one, and I truly hope that J. Ryan Stradal keeps writing.

Holy mackerel, this book is so beautiful. A real departure from the genre fiction I usually read, and in a way that made it difficult for me. The prose is dense, in a good way, in a poetic way; not your typical page-turner. But still. It was just so good.

The plot unfolds slowly, carefully, lovingly, revealing each character in turn. It's messy, at times, and I believe that's intentional. This is not a quick or easy read -- but it's a great one.

This book was beautiful and incredible. I devoured it. Reminded me of John Irving a bit.

Armada: A Novel | Ernest Cline

DNF. I loved Ready Player One and I really wanted to love Armada... and Cline is a talented writer... but I just couldn't get into this book.

I think a very big part of my disinterest in Armada was how it was centered on the massive multiplayer games and the culture surrounding that. It's just not interesting to me. If MMP games are your thing, then it's probably a great book.

A modern-day twist on "When Harry Met Sally," set in Los Angeles... I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters had real chemistry on the page, and I was rooting so hard for both of them! Kemper Donovan weaves a tale that's funny, poignant, romantic, and suspenseful. I just wish I was more familiar with L.A.'s neighborhoods since the city is practically a character in the book!

LOVED IT. AMAZING. The characters were well drawn and intelligent, the pace was perfect, the voice was very strong. Machine-gun dialogue reminded me of "His Girl Friday." I didn't want it to end!
