Anddddddd... Go!
Anyone else think the S itself is a bit... nautical?
So Jen figures out Caldeira was a woman - ironic?
Is she Straka's Muse? His love?
Is Jen playing the same role for Eric?
Assuming that she tells the truth about Straka's disappearance... Are her coded footnotes for Straka, in the hope that he was alive & that he'll use them to re-connect with her?
Any thoughts on the theories of who VM Straka was, if he was not actually VM Straka???
Mark as Spoiler & for details, stick to Ch 1-3. For theories, go wild!!! 😜
We've got Eric, using Room B19 under Thomas Chadwick's student ID. He's 28. He was working under Prof Moody on a dissertation on VM Straka. But he got kicked out when he flooded the dept over winter break. Now he's getting funds from the Serin group to continue his studies independently. He thinks Straka wrote most of Ship of Theseus, but that his translator overstepped.
He has some paranoia.
What else? Please mark as Spoiler 😊
So we've got Jen, an undergrad at Pollard State University, about to graduate & take a job she hates in NYC. She works in the library, finds this book left behind and places it in Room B19 (as instructed), & begins a correspondence via the book. She just went through a break-up. She's distancing herself from her friends. She gets totally caught up in this guy's work.
What else do we know/think about Jen so far? Mark as Spoiler, please 😊

Ok, Adventurers, today's our start date! I have had to keep myself super-busy reading other things to keep from getting lost in this beauty. So excited to start this with you all! Let's say we read Ch 1-3 by 9/7. Discussions on that section are open after that (though it's still kind to tag new posts as Spoilers for anyone lagging).
Sound good?
Andddddd.... Go! 📚
We're gonna do this as a buddy read, starting 9/1/16! Get your book📚. Details to follow...
