I have to admit I am really enjoying this intertwining of finance and historical fiction... May have something to do with having my CPA or masters in finance... Lol

Dear husband let me read a bit on our road trip!! This is really captivating. Love Follet!
I am a CPA and my life for the last 6 weeks or so has revolved around preparing financial statements for my company, the quarterly press release, and all the review and analysis that goes with it. Hopefully I will be back to reading something other than annual reports and earnings releases soon!! We file Tuesday!
So in an attempt to make my commute time (2 hours a day) more productive, I am turning back to audiobooks... Self-help over fiction this time and saving fiction for reading... Anybody have any suggestions?
I really loved this book. Just enough realism and fantasy combined with Alaskan wilderness. Perfect winter read! Very captivating! Finished in just 5 days and so thankful for reading time over Christmas break! I could feel many of the main characters feelings and imagine their voices in my head. So perfect I picked up the authors next book at the library today!
I truly enjoying this book and the time to read it. Needed this sweet reminder and as we start a new year...
I see that life itself is often more fantastic and terrible than the stories we believed as children, and that perhaps there is no harm in finding magic among the trees. 💕
I feel guilty for bailing on A Kingdom of Dreams. Such positive reviews for it... But I believe since it is due back Monday, I am only 150 pages in and I have been skimming the last 50 pages... It was time. The Snow Queen is doing a better job of keeping my attention right now anyway...
Well it's a little too historical romancey for me. I hope there is some depth soon....
Hopefully finally starting this book! #needmoretimetoread #isitchristmasbreakalready
#libraryloot #kidslit #christmasbooks We went to the library looking for books to explain her nativity scene toy and the birth of baby Jesus. She is 2 and she paid the most attention to Little Owl and the Star
Well a bit disappointed in the ending. In between so-so and a pick but going for the more positive as I will likely read the next book in the series. I like the strengths of the naturalist and the elemental queen but I thought the poisoner strengths were kind of lame.... Hence being disappointed in the end. Totally feels YA but the complex list of characters could have benefited from a list in the front or back to keep things straight.
Geez I have been waiting for this moment all week. #favoritetea #goodbook #fridaynight only have a week to left to finish before I have to return it to the library!
"No one really wishes to be queen." Starting to enjoy it but I because I have been reading in such small fragments I am having a hard time keeping up with the long cast of characters...
My favorite Halloween books we borrowed from the library this past month! Going back today!
When you watch Beauty and the Beast for the first time in two decades with your toddler and realize how much it shaped your life! Lol still know every song too! #noseinabook #thatcastlelibrary😍
So I am just about 30 pages in and I am not sold yet. Definitely feels YA/juvenile fiction, which I am not totally sure I am in the mood for. I will keep going.. #allhallowsread #giveascarybook
Well it wasn't until page 200 or so that I was really hooked but after that I literally could not put it down! So many tears!! But so good. Papa and his two girls and their sacrifices for France are quite impressive! Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I recently read a WWII book with one similar plot line and that I think made it drag for a little bit great story telling by Hannah!
"She knew she had made the right choice. It wasn't that it was right or wrong that haunted her. It was the act itself. Murder."
It's definitely getting better. Shed a couple tears already....
Not sure if any fellow readers of The Nightingale have also read Ken Follet's Winter of the World but... This current part of the story about rescuing the foreign airmen by sneaking them over the mountains to safety in Spain is pretty similar to part of Follet's book...
#libraryhaul for my little that we returned last night. Her favorite was Goodnight, Little Monster. However she really enjoyed her Halloween character books for Peppa and Paw Patrol too! And I enjoyed this version of Row Row Row your boat! The added verses were fun!
Super excited to finally be reading this book! Hope it lives up!
It was a fascinating book. Love the references to The Jungle Book. Wish the end would have tied up a bit neater but overall a great read. Very different!
