Jude‘s journey was inspiring. She demonstrated so many qualities of a strong female: determination, persistence, courageous, and fear. She tried to be brave like her brother but was always honest to herself about the uncertainty of her new situation. Her emotions were real and she helped readers see that it‘s ok to go out there and take on new challenges, whether by choice or not.

Johernandez I actually really liked this book. It‘s so relatable and shows a different perspective from a culture that I would love to know more about! 4y

We finished the book! Hearing Jude‘s story of overcoming challenges and extreme change is inspiring. She is a strong female character that girls and women of all ages can enjoy and relate to in some way. This book touches on family, conflict, society, and adjustment. It‘s verse style made it enjoyable as well. Something different that made the book work even better

kennedimartin I love that your cat reads with you!! You must have a great story telling voice 😂 I finished the book too!! Such a great read (edited) 4y

Blurry photo, but I captured a cute moment last night while reading. I was reading out loud and one of my cats, Sage, was sitting in her box and stuck around to hear about Jude‘s journey. The more I read, the less I want to put it down!

LiteraryinLawrence I love cat read-aloud sessions! Mine really seem to like it. 😋 4y
kennedimartin Hi Amanda! I agree, I‘m having a hard time trying to put this book down!! What‘s your favorite part so far? 4y

So far, so great! Jasmine Warga has managed to relate a very mature topic to younger children, and I think her verse style of writing is a big part of that. I am excited to get the chance to discuss the book with fellow book club members. I‘m enjoying Litsy so far and this is my first post, yay! Happy reading! #NCHPedsReads #JanPedsReads

NCHPedsReads I love that Jasmine Warga chose to write this book in verse. Keep reading! I hope you are enjoying Jude‘s journey. 🌏❤️ 4y
