Personally, I just couldn't get into this book at all. All the names of people and places just get confusing and I feel like there are better novels from the Irish culture than this one...

So I was a little apprehensive at first as I didn't know what to expect, but I absolutely loved it! Such a great comedy and so funny and cute at the same time. Definitely would recommend for someone looking to read more Shakespeare, it's so light-hearted and fun.

Personally, I don't think this is one of Shakespeare's best plays. For a comedy, it's still a little serious and I found some parts of it a little boring.
I do love Shakespeare but there are other comedies of his that I would recommend before this one.

Something I've been wanting to read for a while but just haven't got around to reading it until now.
Definitely worth watching alongside a DVD version as you understand the jokes a lot more and it's fun to see how people play around with it, but a really good play.
Full of so many comedic lines and characters, definitely made me laugh more than once!

Shakespeare was just so on it 👌🏻
I have so much respect for him and his writing and I'm actually super excited to start writing my dissertation on him! 📖
What's your favourite Shakespeare play/quote?

inked.delights Beautiful quote! 😍 7y
quietlycuriouskate Many years ago I wrote a dissertation comparing Lady Macbeth to Clytemnestra from Aeschylus's Oresteia. 7y
BethanyAlys @River_Voice that sounds so interesting! I'm doing a link between gender and genre so looking at female roles in one particular genre but I'm undecided which one yet! 7y
Em_loves For me it's the best thing about teaching English! My favourite character is Lady M! What a woman! Favourite play though is a tough toss up between Hamlet, Macbeth and Lear! X 7y

Haven't read this yet but super excited to read it when I've finished all my uni reading. Feel like I should start reading more classics and think this would be a good one to make sure is on my list.
Any opinions/suggestions are welcome 🙂

quietlycuriouskate Which classics have you already read and enjoyed? 7y
BethanyAlys @River_Voice I've just finished reading Wurthering Heights which I enjoyed but I read Jane Eyre before that and absolutely loved it 7y
quietlycuriouskate If you're into the Brontës then "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" is well worth a look. 7y
BethanyAlys @River_Voice thanks, I'll check it out! 7y

"In this magnificent, deeply moving novel, the stories of Marie-Laure and Werner illuminate the ways, against all odds, people try to be good to one another"

This novel gives the reader the view of two children during the Second World War and is written in a lovely way with each protagonist alternating chapters. Definitely had me hooked and wanting to find out more. It also gives you a new perspective on life and humanity.

Yukina_Snowy Really cute and deep book, I love it. 7y

Probably one of my favourite books! I absolutely love that it's narrated by Death and the views that he has on people and the world. The ending absolutely broke my heart but it's such a lovely and well written book that I can deal with that.
