I have a special place in my heart for "I'm Thinking of Ending Things". It had the most surprising ending. Reid is a master at keeping an air of mystery and giving nothing away until he wants to. "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" elicited not only an emotional reaction from me but a physical one as well. It was gut wrenching. I had a sense of unease the more I read, and by the end of it I had tears in my eyes. Very much looking forward to "Foe".

"Though the death of the unknown woman seems to be recent, the flesh on her corpse has been picked off in places as if something—or someone—has been gnawing on the bones. The plot Phosy soon uncovers involves much more than a single set of skeletal remains."

I came upon this book while browsing the mystery section and couldn't help but think of that one line:

"Do you still hear the lambs, Clarice?"

This should be an interesting read.

"For years, my life has been flat. I‘m not sure how else to describe it. I‘ve never admitted it before. I‘m not depressed, I don‘t think. That‘s not what I‘m saying. Just flat, listless. So much has felt accidental, unnecessary, arbitrary. It‘s been lacking a dimension. Something seems to be missing."
