Pickpick

‘Heartbreak is loss. Divorce is a piece of paper‘. Everyone is surprised when Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo chooses Monique Grant to write her tell all biography, none more so than Monique herself. Evelyn guides Monique through her Hollywood career, scandalous marriages and ultimately reveals her one true love. Evelyn Hugo is a complex and well crafted character and I couldn‘t put this book down! Definitely a 5 star read ⭐️

marleed 5 stars for me too! 5y

Mehso-so

Journalist Martin Scarsden arrives in Riversend, a town ravaged by drought and grief following the mass murder perpetrated by the towns much loved young priest. As Martin explores how the town in coping a year on from the tragedy he realises not everything is as it seems and everybody is still hiding dark secrets. The plot was well thought out but the style of writing just wasn‘t for me, (overly) descriptive and written in third person. 3star read

Pickpick

Tense and gritty revenge plot thriller following Sadie as she hunts her sisters killer and West McCray as his podcast follows Sadie‘s trail. ‘In Mattie, Sadie found a sense of purpose, a place to put her love. But love is complicated, it‘s messy. It can inspire selflessness, selfishness, our greatest accomplishments and our hardest mistakes. It brings us together and it can just as easily drive us apart. It can drive us.‘
