Just listened to this with my husband and while this wasn't quite as good as the Seven Realms series it was still great and I am so excited for the next book.

threadmangler Oh man if this "wasn't as good" then I am even more excited to go back and read Seven Realms! 8y

While it was a little bit slow at times, I thought this book was super interesting!

I was totally in the mood for a romantic comedy in book form and this novel totally fit the bill. It made me laugh and I really enjoyed it!

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book but I absolutely loved it. The author's own story was interesting but the mini biographies of the other five women were amazing. I loved being introduced to some women from history who aren't commonly shown. Loved it!

I think that I read a couple of the series in elementary school but I remember very little from them. I felt like I was reading this book for the first time and I loved it!

This was a heart-breaking depiction of what it is like to be a refugee. Completely eye opening.

EvieBee I agree! Just finished this one. Sigh. 8y

Sometimes you just need to read a massively sweeping historical fiction novel. This one covered 1911 through 1924. Every perspective was unique and interesting and I felt as though I learned so much. I really enjoyed it!

I laughed all the way through this book. The chapter about working in HR killed me and I loved when she considered hiring a pimp to exhume her dog. I want to be best friends with her. She is ridiculous in the very best way.

I adored this book. The characters, the village, the story. I was completely drawn in and fell in love more and more with every page. I can't wait to read more in the series!

This book was horrifying and hopeful and riveting and compelling all at once. I could barely put it down. And I want to be best friends with Rebecca. She is so determined and gutsy. An awesome woman to read about.

I will never stop being amazed at Alice Munro's ability to make seemingly mundane situations appear riveting and important. My favourite stories in the collection were Passion and Tricks. Absolutely incredible!
