The Night Circus | 
pickReading this was truly like going to the circus as a child. Meeting the performers before witnessing their unbelievable acts, getting lost in a maze of awe-inspiring sights, the mystery, not knowing what was going to happen next, and the incredible letdown when you know you have to leave.
At first, I didn't know what to make of this book. Children forced to learn magic for a game only to find out one must die. One wild ride.
pickThis book has been sitting on my shelf for far too long, and I am so mad that I waited this long to delve into this magical world. This beautiful love story is enchanting and lush. I was utterly addicted to this story from page one because the characters are darn near perfect, and the universe this story inhabits is one I could get lost in. Erin Morgenstern paints such a vivid picture that I feel I was in the story along with the other characters.
pickReally good fantasy and readable and I can see why some people like it so much. I enjoyed it. Maybe I am into so much NF now or I would be more into it. Like a dream.
pickFantastical. But more than fantasy. Lyrical. But more than poetry. Epic. But simple in scope. The circus has come to town. Two children bonded together and pitted against one another in a magical, mystical challenge. The circus is the venue, but the challenge is not about acts of wonder. If only they had known before they fell in love.

I will finish “Heavenly Tyrant” next month I guess. And start “The Night Circus” now. One of the first books to be completed as a NaNoWriMo project and then traditionally published.
pickWe went to Edinburgh for Christmas. I hoped to visit more bookstores than I did but I made sure I bought a copy of one of my favorite books at uWaterstones while I was there. 😍 that was a long flight from Texas!
Excited to be starting this #audiobook of The Night Circus, which seems to be a favourite for a lot of people. I can't believe I haven't read it yet! Jim Dale performs the audiobook and I didn't realize his voice would remind me of Harry Potter so much!
pickI would give anything to go back to Le Cirque des Rêves for the first time. I cried because it was over. Truly one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. A masterpiece. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
pickThis was my 5th time reading this one and it just gets better each time! One of my favorite elements, besides the incredible descriptions, is that the author gives us the opportunity to view the circus from both the inside, from the perspective of the performers and creators, and the outside through the characters of Herr Thiessen and Bailey. It provides a complete picture of the enchanting world. It‘s a forever favorite for me.

Very enchanting. I wish some of the characters had been developed a bit more, but it was very atmospheric and sweet.
1. Mangoes by a landslide.
2. Even though it‘s been years I remember the scene in the tagged book where the main character introduces his girlfriend to his parents over dinner.

pickA reread that was just so lovely to revisit. Ultimately, I think I liked it even more the second time around, having found it a bit predictable the first time but now, I knew what was coming. Morgenstern creates such a strong sense of place with this once and I loved how she built tension as the pages were turning. Will they ever get this movie made?!

pick#ReadAway2024 This intriguing fantasy has quite a few twists and turns. There are some parts of the book that are told from different points in time but I didn‘t find it confusing. It made me curious about how it would all come together. I wasn‘t sure how this would end, which I think is a good thing. I probably will think about this book for a while to see how I feel about certain aspects of the story.

pickThis was a trip. For a while, I was certain to be disappointed by finding out it was all a drug induced haze. Thankfully, I was wrong, and I have to admit that even though I dream quite vividly, I started dreaming of the circus from the day I started reading it.
so-soI‘m kind of sad to give it a ‘so-so‘. Bought this copy many years ago for my mum, then borrowed it to read because she liked it. I also bought a copy for my sister, who loved it. It has sat patiently on my #tbr shelves for about 10 years. I‘ve moved it on & off my bedside table, never getting into it.
A buddy read popped up on Insta & I decided to commit. And now I just feel underwhelmed. It wasn‘t for me I guess. Glad I finally read it 💪.
pickThis was a reread for my bookclub and it was so lovely to revisit. I think I appreciated the atmospheric meandering more, knowing what I was getting into. The Starless Sea is still my favorite of her two books though. She really knows how to create a magical world that you want to step inside

I've been rereading The Night Circus and these two words popped up as chapter titles. I don't remember noticing them my first read through and had to look them up this time but I really like the idea of using cats to predict the future 😺

I might have the unpopular opinion here - but I found this book underwhelming. I really tried to connect with the characters but could not.
However, the detail surrounding the circus aspect was beautifully written so for that, I give it 3 stars.

pickThis was as dreamy and surreal as the titular circus itself. I found myself coming up with theories trying to tie the three separate narrative timelines together. The audio was good but I feel like in this instance it might have been a more immersive experience reading the text.
1. I always have a long “to do” list with two little ones at home; however, I‘m most looking forward to a Mom & Baby group tomorrow AND reading more of tagged book.
2. Lists on the notes section of my phone are helpful. I try to stay organized but it doesn‘t always happen!
3. Somewhere sunny! Hawaii comes to mind. Anyone else in Southwestern Ontario? Lots of grey days here (although a sunny weekend finally!)

bailedHere‘s my review for a book I didn‘t finish. I read this book for a readalong on StoryGraph. I‘m not counting this towards the #wintergames or doing a #wordsearch on it.
Here‘s my reading progress for this book I‘m currently reading. I was enjoying the first 2 parts of this book but now, I‘m considering bailing on this book. I still don‘t understand what‘s going on. There‘s a romance in here but I just don‘t buy it. I thought this book was going to be more exciting based on the book summary but it hasn‘t been that way. It‘s been kind of boring. This story is moving too slow for me.
Here‘s my progress on my Advent Calendar. I‘m liking The Night Circus but I‘m not sure where it‘s going. It just seems like there‘s a lot going on and I‘m trying to figure it out.
I‘m sharing my reading progress in this book I‘m currently reading and sharing the game I‘m playing on my iPad. I‘m doing cross stitch on the Cross Stitch World app and using a stylus instead of my finger for my cross stitching.
I decided to start this book because I‘m participating in a readalong for the book on StoryGraph. I read the prologue. This is my first time reading this book. The way the prologue ended has me intrigued about what‘s going to happen next. I have a feeling that there‘s something magical about the circus. I want to keep reading so I can find out more.
