Pickpick

After fully reading this memoir Is can say with confidence that this is one of my favourite books that I have read. Throughout this book we see the abuse and trauma that the Walls children face told in the first person point of few of Jeannette Walls. As Jeannette's story continues on, the Walls family finally decide to settle in Welsh, West Virginia. From this point on we see that Jeanette's views on life begin to change. She realizes that she

Cosimo wants to strive for more and change her lifestyle for the better. With her determination snd courage she managed to save up enough money and move to New York with her older sister Lori, where she is able to fully pursue her passion and love the life that she had once dreamt of. If you like a heart felt story that showcases multiple interesting adventures, lots of ups and downs and an overall motivational story then this book is for you! 3y

So far this is definitely one of my favourite books I‘ve read! Jeanette Walls showcases the strange, yet interesting adventures that her family has taken her on throughout her eventful and unordinary childhood. Through all of her families profound flaws, Jeannette manages to use them as determination in order to find her path to success. All in all, this book delivers the true story of a family who loves each other unconditionally, even at

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Cosimo! It was a tad vague in your summary, and in your theme, but nicely done. 5/6 3y

I'll Show You | Sam Smith, Derrick Rose

Now that i have read much more of this book, I have come to a final verdict. As I‘ve read on, it has talked more in depth about the serious injuries that Derrick Rose went through and exactly how he overcame them. All of the people that doubted him, and how he build himself back into the successful NBA player that he is today, and has always deserved to be. This book is a pretty good book, although it‘s really no to special.

Cosimo ...Those who are not sports fans most likely will not be interested in the topics and stories talked about in this book. I do happen to be a sports fan and especially an NBA fan so for me, this book is worth the read. Therefore, I will be giving this book a “So-So” as some may not be interested in this read. The motif of this book is not to give up and work hard for what you want. No matter what anyone else says! (edited) 4y
MissYaremcio Nicely done Cosimo! Biographies can be a tricky one as not everyone enjoys them! Th only thing is that this review was based on POV! 4/6 4y

This book is about the life story of NBA point guard and former MVP Derrick Rose. Although I have not fully finished the book, from what I‘ve read it‘s pretty good. Rose talks about what it was like growing up in some of Chicago‘s most dangerous neighbourhoods, the highs of his life, the lows of his life, and everything that has lead up to where he is now. If you are a fan of the NBA or just a sports fan in general, then I recommend this to you.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Cosimo! I was just missing the motif and it's significance (though I totally get that it can be hard with an autobiography)! 4/6 4y
