I am ecstatic that this was the first book I finished in 2018. If this has any insight into what this new year brings to me in books, then it will be the best reading year for me to date. This book was ADDICTIVE! I found myself thinking about Parzival and the rest of the gang constantly. Even when I wasn‘t laid up in the couch with some sweet tea, electric blanket, candles lit and this book in my face.

I'm very happy to say that I've picked up my first ever Stepyen King book! I know it's still summer, but my mind and soul has been craving, and anxiously awaiting, Fall. That being said, I wanted to read something spooky. Judging by reviews, this will definitely fit that perfectly.

This book. I have had a serious problem with commitment to YA fantasy series. Either the story was just alright or the fact that so many books had seemed daunting. Daughter of Smoke and Bone changed that for me. This book kept me turning the pages and I was constantly thinking about the cast or characters while I wasn't reading. This extremely unique, and extremely well written, novel has cured my commitment issues to YA fantasy series.

Friends, I just started this book for the very first time, and I'm so in love. No, seriously, I LOVE this book. This is my perfect fantasy and I believe this book may very well be my #1 favorite when I'm done.

So, I'm extremely disappointed. I've heard so many great reviews about this book and was so excited to pick it up since the same author wrote one of my all time favorite books, Fangirl. I had to DNF. Guys...I just can't. This book was mundane, repetitive and had no direction whatsoever. I hate nothing more than not finishing a book, but I just couldn't. If you like this book, tell me why. Maybe it's just me being to critical.

This book, much like Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, makes me conscious of why I love fandom so much. It brings me back to the days of middle school/early high school angst, and being obsessed with Harry Potter. Francesca Zappia did such a wonderful job at accurately portraying mental illness, in this book, anxiety. The thoughts that Eliza had and her panic at social interactions reminds me of when I was younger and dealt with such similar things.

nikkiebooks The author calls it an "ode to fandom" and it is, but it really is so much more than that! It's an ode to the people who take comfort in fandoms, to the people who make them up. Such an amazing novel. 7y
DustinTheTomes I 100% agree. Is Fandom Romance going to be a new YA subgenre now? Because I'd be about that life. Haha. 7y
Kar2b I loved this one too! I went out and bought Made You Up because I liked her writing so much. 7y
DustinTheTomes @Kar2b I need to buy that one, because I love her writing too!! I'm still thinking about Eliza and Wallace even though I'm halfway through Eleanor and Park. Lol. 7y
