I know I'm way behind the times but I'm glad I'm finally reading this book #preach

Absolutely gnashing my teeth to get ahold of this! An alternate history starring a lady Vlad Țepeș? Sign me the heck up. June 28 can't come quickly enough!

Speaking of Little House... this is an absolute gem, with dense annotations and really insightful commentary on the tension between history and fiction in Ingalls Wilder's writing. A healthy dose of reality for those who, like me, grew up with her books. Highly recommended.

Today's book haul from Value Village. Gotta say I'm most excited for The Ghost in the Little House--what a find!

Good grief, how excited am I for this new take on the Goblin King? Methinks it's time for a Labyrinth rewatch.

Such a massive disappointment. And it would have been a perfectly fine if undistinguished piece of historical fluff if not for the author's ham-handed decision to make it an Anna Karenina sequel... It completely lacks the complexity and thematic sophistication of the original. Just BLAH.

Finished this today and was charmed to death by it, and immediately ordered a used copy to send to my ma, since it's just her flavour of off-beat memoir, and she'll empathize with the country-living aspect. I don't know that I'll pick up the rest of Rich's oeuvre but this is a lovely hidden gem.
