I can't believe that I never read this one in school. Randomly saw it at the bookstore and decided it was time.

I was leery about this one as reviews are mixed - often calling it a bit of a soap opera. I understand those comments, but in the end saw it as a tale of how families are tied over time, despite imperfections.
