I thought this book was really good! I liked that it wasn't just a typical, teen romance book. I noticed similarities to Harry Potter, which I suppose was intended by the author. I didn't know that I should have read Fangirl first, but oh well! I definitely liked this book better than Eleanor & Park.

While i don't think this book is for everyone, I can't apologize for liking it or recommending it. I think parents should read this. As a parent of pre- teen, I want to be aware. I want my son to know he can talk to me about anything. The t.v. show was more graphic, some scenes were difficult to watch, but I don't feel it "glamorizes" suicide. So I would recommend the book, before the show. A little kindness and compassion goes a long way.
