Read this for a new local book club I have joined.
It grew on me and by the end I was captivated by the stories of the gritty tough lives these immigrants experienced. Eye opening .

Saw this as a musical tonight- excellent production, loved the storytelling but haven't read the book- adding to TBR list right now!
