I just spent a ridiculous amount of money on books and I'm pretty sure my husband is going to murder me. If anything happens to me, that's why. 😂😂

I went into Jane Steele with high expectations and it did not disappoint! The story was beautifully written and engrossing. And the naked book is just as gorgeous as the dust jacket. I'm in love with this story and all it's characters.
I've been a big fan of Jomny Sun on twitter for awhile, and now I have his sweet little story about a lonely alien to help me through the times when I feel alone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't really know how to explain this book. It's part ghost story, part family drama, part mystery.... there is a lot to The Doll Funeral. It's weird and sad, but also hopeful and happy. You never quite know where the story is going. I think The Doll Funeral is the first book I've read this year that I couldn't put down. It's an oddly inspiring book, and I adored it.
I adored Homegoing. I wasn't able to emotionally invest in all of the characters, because we only got one chapter on each of them. But this definitely made me feel a wide range of emotions - sadness, disgust, despair, and then, finally, hopefulness and inspiration. The characters come full circle at the end, and the writing is beautifully done. 4.5 stars
Such a powerful book. I hope one day that it's required reading in schools.
It's snowing, Ollie is snuggling with me on the electric blanket, and I've finally gotten around to the first Magnus Chase book. I'm about halfway through and I'm loving it!
I rolled my eyes through this whole book. Gwen only knew Pete for like 2 days and she is in love with him? I wanted to like this, but it was so predictable and I felt like the writing was on par with the Twilight series (not good). It tried too hard and was so trope-y. Gwen is the chosen one, she's stunningly beautiful, Pete is hot and jacked, etc etc. And Hook was a whiny bitch. Ugh.
I had never heard of Stalin's genocide of the Baltic people during WWII. The atrocities they faced were terrible and it was so sad to read about. That being said, I just didn't connect to the characters, so I wasn't as emotionally invested as I expected to be. But it is definitely worth the read. 3/5 stars
How beautiful is The Night Circus? I honestly didn't think I would be lucky enough to read 2 beautifully written books this year, but here I am, just finishing the second. I loved the gorgeous descriptions of the Circus, and the characters. I adored Poppet and Widget, and Celia and Marco were brilliant. I can't wait to re-read this phenomenal book!
I never wanted this to end. Born to Run felt like Bruce was my dad and we were just hanging out while he told me stories of his life. I'm so happy that my mom introduced me to Bruce's music when I was little. I've loved him ever since! ALL THE STARS
I'm still so sad over Clarence's death. This picture was taken during The River tour at Gillette Stadium in September. Bruce and the band had a beautiful pictorial tribute to C on all of the big screens. It was a wonderful way to honor him. #RIPBigMan
I've been sick with an awful cold all week, and it caused eye pain at the beginning (thankfully gone) and now blurry vision, so I haven't been able to read much. I'll be happy to be able to get back into reading this once it clears up!
Finally Little Steven makes his appearance!!!!! #imsoexcited
When I was a kid (read: well into my teens), my mom had to bribe me with money to get me to swallow pills. Now, as an adult, my husband has to bribe me with a book to make me get a flu shot. This year A Tyranny of Petticoats is my prize. Pictured with my current read, #BornToRun by Bruce Springsteen and my childhood doll Solange (because I'm a baby 😂). #booknerd #atyrannyofpetticoats #flushot💉 #iknowhowtoworkthesystem
"WHEN YOU CAN'T BEAT THE ODDS, CHANGE THE GAME."
Crooked Kingdom is a masterpiece. It broke my heart, made me cheer, made me laugh, and so much more. I would love more books with Kaz's crew, but I'm very pleased with how it wrapped up. The plot is fast paced and kept me hooked, and the romances were slow building which is just how I like it! Perfection.

I can't even explain how much I loved Station Eleven. I think because the idea of the world post-apocalypse seemed believable, unlike other apocalypse books I've read. I could actually imagine living in that world. The writing was beautiful, I connected with the characters and I could feel their joys and sorrows. I figured out the prophet's true identity way before Clark did, but it didn't ruin the book for me. Station Eleven was so well done!
Enjoying this beautiful fall day! It's interesting reading Station Eleven while experiencing the beauty of the outdoors. What if everything changed, just like in the story? What would our apocalypse look like? #deepthoughts
I think I would have loved this book if there wasn't so much God talk. The characters were great - I especially loved Travis. I really felt for Dill - I know what it's like to feel hopeless. Jeff Zentner did a fantastic job of making me really care about the characters. But too much Christian talk for my liking. Probably 3.5 stars.
This was a fun whodunit. I was immediately sucked in and couldn't put it down. Everyone, even the main character, seemed shady so I had no idea how this would turn out. If you want a page-turning mystery, definitely pick up The Woman in Cabin 10!
I love this book! It makes me so happy, and Millard is the PERFECT editor! It strongly reminds me of Beedle's stories. My favorite is The Locust, but I also loved The First Ymbryne and The Tale of Cuthbert. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I got both of these for the price of one today! I can't wait to read them!
I am so disappointed with this play/script. It read like bad fan fiction and the characters had complete personality changes. I also hated the plot. The only bright spot was Scorpius. Idc what is canon, Scorpius and Albus belong together and I'll go down fighting anyone on that. Scorpius is a precious gem, he deserved so much better than this story.
McGonagall reading the map is my favorite illustration so far!
Don't get me wrong, Smoke was very good & enjoyable. But it was hyped as a book for fans of Harry Potter & His Dark Materials. Smoke is nothing like HP (can't speak to HDM). It was dark, creepy & fascinating. I really did like it, but with the hype I was expecting it to be whimsical, which it's not.
I did enjoy the book, but there were a lot of unresolved questions I had. I understand lust at first sight, but insta love... no. That said, I couldn't put it down. My favorite thing about this book was the Native American stories interwoven throughout. 3.5 stars
Starting this book today. It's not too long, hopefully I can finish it over the weekend!
So. Much. Angst. Mare was moody, bitchy, selfish, and whiny in Glass Sword. I still really enjoyed the book, but her attitude got REALLY annoying. There was plenty of adventure and suspense, and I didn't find it as predictable as Red Queen. Can't wait for book 3!
It's the perfect day to read. A little gloomy, but peaceful. I've got my best friend with me. Life is good!
I went into Red Queen with low expectations because of all of the mixed reviews on booktube. But I was really pleasantly surprised! It kept me interested, even though I predicted most of what happened. My only gripe is that it reminded me strongly of The Hunger Games and slightly of Divergent.
Not cool, Maven. Not cool. I kinda saw it coming, but it still makes me mad. I will hopefully finish this book tomorrow!
I can't even shower without Harry Potter! I listen to the audiobooks a lot when I'm showering - I have a waterproof Bluetooth speaker. Harry is always with me!
Chamber of Secrets is being repeated, so I guess I'll be able to get some reading in after all!
Since it's Harry Potter weekend, I doubt I'll get much reading done! But I live for these weekends.
