Prisoner of Azkaban was my childhood favourite in the series, slightly gothic & very haunting. Still the ways the lives of Sirius and Remus were so blighted by the cowardice of another, starkly contrasted with the raucous high jinx of their youth pulls my heartstrings. What it is to live on in the aftermath of betrayal & grief...

Pictured with gothic classic, Wuthering Heights, another beloved book of my youth that reckons with loss and grieving.

“THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!” roared Black. “DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!” Black and Lupin stood shoulder to shoulder, wands raised.
“You should have realized,” said Lupin quietly, “if Voldemort didn‘t kill you, we would. Good-bye, Peter.”

Sirius may be dramatic, but Lupin is a savage.

I've always considered the Prisoner of Azkaban to be my favorite Harry Potter book. Rereading the series (20 years after this installment was written), it's still my favorite. I'll try to keep my mind open as I make my way through the series again. 😉

Literary_Siren It‘s my favorite too! And actually the first one I read because my grandma bought it for my sister for Christmas and didn‘t know any better. (I got the first Nancy Drew book that year. ) 4w

2019 didn't start on a good note for me. I was stressed, depressed and broken-hearted, and I was often looking for comfort in familiar and loved books, which resulted in a record amount of rereads for me. These three books are the ones I've read for the first time and 100% loved. I should also say that 2019 was a year I finally became a Potterhead! #newyear #potterhead #hufflepuff 🦡🦡📚📚☃️🎉🎄

How did you choose this book: I needed a 400 page book, and Prisoner of Azkaban was the closest book to 400 so I could reach 10 books read before the next semester.
Who was the protagonist: Harry Potter and Co.

350+ Pages rounded to 400 pages = 2 books

Gabriel_Aniceto9A Write a brief summary of the novel: Book follows Harry‘s third year in Hogwarts. Along with his friends Hermione and Ron they investigate a believed ally of Voldemort, Sirius Black and escapee from the prison, Azkaban. (edited) 3w
Gabriel_Aniceto9A What was his/her problem and how was the problem resolved? Date Started: December 5
Date Completed: December 15
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
I chose this because it is the third book in the Harry Potter series
This book is about Harry Potter and his uncle who had escaped from Azkaban, which is a high level wizard prison. It is believe that he was a dangerous wizard that killed others before. When he was faced with him, his uncle was harmless and was a good friend of his father. -

Angelo :) Summary Cont. This allows Harry to not only grow as a wizard, but he also gets to learn a lot more from his step father about his family prior to their deaths. 1mo

Young Harry Potter, a student at Hogwarts suspects that something strange is going on. Especially after hearing the big news about how a mysterious murderer named Sirius black has escaped from prison. Curious he ventures into finding the missing clues on how this could of happened. If you like books that have adventure and mystery than this is your book. The genre of this book is fantasy and fiction because it deals with magic and is not real.

One of my best friends has a podcast about Harry Potter. She and her co-host have asked me to answer some questions about the third HP book from a psychologist‘s point of view. So I‘m prepping my answers, so I‘ll (hopefully) be able to say something somewhat intelligent on the subject when my friend comes over later 😄

This book is one of my favorite books. But you should definitely read books 1 and 2 of the series before this one. It's so interesting with the concept of time-travel. It's a race through time with Harry and Hermione where mischief gets managed. I would definitely recommend this book for fantasy fans.

TheBookAddict I have to say that it‘s also my favorite in the series. 🙂👍🏽 3mo

Finished my cross stitch travel poster today while listening to Trunk Music by Michael Connelly. Not quite done with the book, but I wanted to show off my project. I've been working on it about 4 weeks. I still need to iron it, so it's a little wonky, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I'm going to start an Isla Nublar (Jurassic Park) travel poster next.

Casey and I went on a longer #audiowalk this morning to take advantage of the relatively decent weather (by which I mean it was 12 instead of 1 or 2). Unfortunately, everything‘s still pretty goopy. We passed by a lot of snowfields—the curve of the ground hides most of a big one on the left of this picture—and navigated a few stretches where the path was still snowed over. Poor Casey got filthy from all the spongy grass, too. Sigh.
