#litsylove letters going out today!! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Read4life @TieDyeDude
1. Both my great-aunt and my grandma. Also, my granddaddy. All three of them were always kind. I never saw any of them be anything other than gentle and kind.
2. My partner and my two sons.
3. I‘ve always loved Madeleine L‘Engle‘s O‘Keefe family. I wanted to be part of that family when I was a girl. I think I kinda still do.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 🌍 🌏
I‘d like your recommendations on books that would help someone deal with bullying. They can be for adults or YA. As an AuDHD adult with C-PTSD, I find that I don‘t have the social skills to navigate bullying. I could really use a couple books to help me work my way through it. Nothing triggering, please. Nonfiction is cool, as is fiction, as are graphic novels. I‘m open to anything. ⬇️
Through the Dragoncon in Atlanta, and other cons, I've had the pleasure of meeting Kevin J. Anderson, Jim Butcher, Delilah S. Dawson, Keith R.A. DeCandido, John Jackson Miller, Robert J. Sawyer, S.M. Stirling and Timothy Zahn.
I'd like to meet Neil Gaiman and John Scalzi. Also, Erik Larson, Sam Kean and Mary Beard (3 of my favorite non-fiction writers).

I have met quite a few since I became a librarian a couple of years ago. To name a few: Kwame Alexander, Julie Murphy, Tehereh Mafi, Neal Shusterman, Justin Cronin, Dan Santat, Jerry Craft, April Henry, and Tracy Wolff, among others. Thank goodness for librarian conferences! 😁

Tried some Venezuelan food for #foodandlit. Wood fired bbq steak, rice and fries, a shredded chicken arepa on the right and a golfeado which is a cinnamon roll with cheese. The soda was strawberry flavored. Everyone loved the food and the drink it‘s gone except for some of the golfeado (it is an acquired taste, not bad but different enough we have some leftover).
The irises are in bloom. I wait all year for this. They‘re so beautiful. I actually go out of my way when driving places to drive by homes with irises in their yards. I keep a running list of which homes have them and which colors they have from the ones I‘ve seen while driving in previous years. The home with the most beautiful iris display changed owners last year, and before they moved, they dug up all their irises. They must‘ve had 200. ⬇️
Who else? Raise those hands haha 🙋🏼♀️
I. Focus. Sometimes I feel so fragmented.
II. Self doubt and unhelpful criticism.
III. I‘m not sure I would describe it as a “win”, but leaving my abusive ex while fighting for and then managing to keep full custody of our sons is probably the thing I‘m proudest of doing.
Anyone else want to play? Consider yourself tagged! 🌺

Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks aka
horned comet, Mother of Dragons, Dragon comet, Devil Comet.
A rarity that only comes around every 71-74 years. The best time to view it should have been on April 8th 2024.
Yet I cannot find any updates about this that are dated in April 2024.
Strange.
Did anyone try to see this during the eclipse?
I will keep searching...💫☄️🤩. Just wondering if anyone else is curious about the lack of interest about this rarity.
It‘s funny, because it‘s true!
To add to that, I started ACOTAR a year or two ago. I read the first book with the intention of reading the others. Now, I‘m almost finished the third book in the Crescent City series, and I‘m considering picking up ACOTAR and continuing where I left off. The only thing is that I can‘t remember the characters or the plot. The struggle is real! lol

Earlier this week,
My mom: Have any plans for the weekend?
Me: Nope.
My mom: How about a series binge-watch?
Me: Sounds like a plan. What should we watch?
My mom: Let me surprise you.
Me: Epic.
This past Friday evening,
My mom: Who is your favorite character on the Addams Family?
Me: The daughter, Wednesday. Why?
My mom: You mean, this Wednesday? (whips out this DVD).
Me: 🧐🤩💃😉👍.
I swear that my mom is some kind of magician! 👇
1. Of course, the quintessential example of movie trumping book—The Princess Bride!
2. Jaws
3. The Shawshank Redemption
There are other examples of great movies coming from great books, like Jurassic Park, No Country for Old Men, and Doctor Sleep, but to me, they are more equal, while the ones I chose for my list evinced a greater disparity in quality. Just my opinion! 😁
#TLT #ThreeListThursday
Batman Begins - equal.
Will Trent (TV series). While not completely fair, because I never read the books... someone said that the books are graphic and what I like about the TV show is that they focus on the characters and emotions instead of the violence and crimes. 👇
Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. I believe I read all the books (unless the series has since continued), yet I had only really enjoyed book one. The movies have my vote. 👇
Just to clarify—I love my Kindle and audiobooks!! It‘s just that nothing trumps a physical book. They‘re all great ways to read though!
