I'm making good progress. I'm almost to part eleven! I am very glad I decided to read this book. The cast of characters and battle details get a little overwhelming but I don't have to take a test when I'm done, so I'm just enjoying the journey.

"... you are trying to insult me, and I'm ready to agree with you that it is very easy to do so, if you haven't sufficient respect for yourself."
Our politicians could learn something from Prince Andrey!!
Such a saga!! This book made me gasp, cringe, cry and hold my breath. In the end I found hope and redemption in humankind. "Thou mayest" are words we should never forget. I've read a lot of Steinbeck ~ he is one of my favorite authors!!
I've put several books back on the shelf, but this is the stack I'm currently reading. I don't have ADD, I just don't have enough time ...
"... it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to to enter into the kingdom of Heaven ..."
As difficult as it is to pick my favorite book of all time ... Les Miserables is my number one. I love this book!!!! I was so sad when I finished it. I must admit I did a little skimming over the Battle at Waterloo portion but in general, I felt like I was in this epic tale as I read it.
I'm really excited to start this book!!
