Pickpick

I have just started the book the “Seven Deadly Shadows”, which goes into the world of the supernatural and who you can trust or not. In this story we follow Kira, as she tells us the story from a first person perspective as indicated by the use of “I” and that it only shows the story from her perspective.

Jessica_Hulstein We learn early on of her ability to see Yokai demons (kind of like ghosts and evil spirits), which makes her feel more like an outsider than she already is. She attends a prestigious school in Japan, but was only able to get in because of her grades, not because of her money, like most students there. Due to this she is bullied often and finds sanctuary in her grandfathers shrine where she works. (edited) 3y

Although I have not read far, I can say it is a good book that keeps you wondering what will happen next. I personally enjoy this book more because it takes place in Japan, which I have always wanted to visit and learn more about their culture. 3y
Jessica_Hulstein So if you like books that deal with the supernatural and Japan folklore this is the book for you as it deals with both in detail. Overall it is a enjoyable read so far and I recommend it to people who also enjoy the folklore and mystery‘s of Japanese culture! (edited) 3y

Mehso-so

Even though I am not far into the book “They Both Die at the End,” it is a good book that appeals to teens in this day and age. It takes place in a futuristic world where “death-cast” is able to predict the day you will die. We are going to follow the story of two teen boys Mateo and Rufus, who are going to die the same day. The boys lives become entangled when they meet each-other on the app known as “last friends”.

Jessica_Hulstein The app promises that the boys will live their last day to the fullest. Overall the book is intriguing so far, but has a slow start. So if you like books that deal with lgbtq characters and tragedy this is the book for you! The story deals with Rufus and Mateos relationship and how they connect after meeting on the “last friends” app, while the book also highlights tragedy, such as the characters deaths. The main theme of this book is to live your (edited) 3y
Jessica_Hulstein life as if it was your last day. Mateo only decides to truly live his life and open up to love after he has learned he is going to die. Overall this is an enjoyable read so far! 3y
