This was amazingly written. The story plot is beautiful, there's tragedy, comedy, insightful, thought provoking. I would recommend reading this as you watch the play being acted out. It helps you understand better. Together it completes the beauty of this book ,
Very long, sometimes the focus felt unnecessary. Hard for me to relate as an Asian, but it was good. This book was written with A LOT of deep thoughts and descriptive beautiful sentences.
This book has many stories in it that all connect to a character name Rose. Originally, the author put this collection together and decided to change the characters in each story to a single character named Rose. The book is interesting. Interestingly and swiftly told and written. Definitely read it if you're from Ontario/Toronto.
In the beginning the writing style seems very confusing, very excessive. Sentences seem incomplete to me. I think that's the style, but it was agonizing to read through. This book definitely has the "diary" entry type of feel to it. It romanticized death and pain. But honestly, I just saw mental illnesses everywhere in the main character, in her family etc. It's nothing to romanticize about in my honest opinion.
This style of writing was very simple to understand and read through without a lot of interruptions. Short read, 1 hour. Was great. I identified a lot with the character
Reading this book was really meditative for me. In a way that you don't have too think hard. You can just enjoy what's in front of you. I loved the simplicity of her vocabulary. She seems like a fun person to be friends with.
