I love Jenny Han's contemporary books! she was one of the authors that really got me hooked on YA contemporary and this was a great follow-up to To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Teen love is fraught with a roller coaster of emotions and this one showed how fragile live can be. I love how Lara Jean a growing in this series!

I recently saw the documentary KEDI, about the cats of Istanbul. And it made me think of one of my favorite cat stories, the one about Norton, a Scottish Fold and his unlikely human companion. I read these books back in high school and they are SO fun. Norton and his human travel the world together and I have fond memories of reading these books with my mom. Definitely recommend for ALL animal lovers!

Rom-coms are not usually my thing. BUT! This book! Funny, sexy, and delightful. I read this one pretty quickly and I loved Josh and Lucy's banter. Author did a great job of teasing!!! I would definitely sign up for more stories about them. Also, a plus, it takes place in a publishing house!

misswendyd Ahhh I'm so happy you enjoyed it! 7y

A delightful addition to the Lunar Chronicles. Iko is actually my favorite character in the entire series and I'm so glad this graphic novel focuses on her. She's smart and fierce and not ashamed to be girly at all. So fun! So glad I was able to work on this series in the past at work. Highly recommend!!!

Hot damn! This was amazing! I love how she plays with words and the poetry form. A slam of inspiration, too, for me, a fledgling poet.

An absolute delight! Especially, considering my own point in life right now, where I am seeking out my own dreams and aspirations while my brain is nagging me to be more practical. If you require some chuckles, highly recommend!

Carrie Fisher is like all of us as a teenager: lots and lots of angst, esp when it comes to romance. I liked learning about her relationship w/ Harrison, but I wish there was a bit more substance & more anecdotes from her time filming the movies. How did their relationship with him change for the second & third movies? Stuff like that.

As short as this was, it was a bit too wordy for me. Good mix of mythology and a contemporary setting but not enough substance to have me invested in the characters.

misswendyd Agreed. Lovely language, but I wanted a bit more substance. 8y

This was a re-read for me, and my favorite of the series. I recently went on a two-week trio to Germany and wanted to take a book with me that I knew I would love, to keep me company. Was very happy with my choice. I think this is my fave of the series because of the reunion and how the setting constantly changes. I love all the twists and turns and the DRAMA that unfolds in this entry. Glad I got to revisit with Jaime and Claire.

[DELETED] 2852984487 This is my favorite of the series as well. 8y

M Train | Patti Smith

M TRAIN is more of a travelogue than her previous memoir, Just Kids. It's more meandering than one would expect but the stories are still moving. My favorite parts were about the Continental Drift Club, and Patti Smith's involvement. The stories she weaved in and out about Hurricane Sandy wreaking havoc on the city and the Rockaways were also quite poignant. It will inspire you to grab a cup of coffee and go exploring!

B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! What a gorgeous story. I loved the language and the imagery, and multi-generational stories are one of my faves. The bakery actually reminded me of the chocolate shop in CHOCOLAT and the sort of effect it had on folks. At times, it was heartbreaking to read but I couldn't take my eyes off the language and the words. I don't want to go into more detail for fear of spoilers, but what a wonderful read!

RanaElizabeth Agree totally with pick, gorgeous magical realism. 8y
