I didn't like this as much as I was hoping to. Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't something this dark or violent. I don't mind dark and violent usually, and I think part of this was wrong book at wrong time. I'll probs try again and continue with this series but won't be rushing to do so.

My cold/flu is certainly helping me power through my TBR shelf if nothing else. This is another one I've been holding onto for a while, this week of miserable weather seems like the right time.

This hooked me in way more than I was expecting it to. Just couldn't put it down.

It's a miserable day and I am wallowing in my cold which makes it perfect for tea and reading.

This was so frustrating in the best ways. Unreliable narrators, switching times, questionable people and I soaked it all up.

Right now I am in a pattern of switching from historical to contemporary. I got into this series as I surprised myself by being a marriage of convenience fan but I like this series less with each book. I also have issues with how comfortable everyone is with guns and all the "security" stuff.

Got just over half way and the plot became just too ridiculous and "what!?" that I'm moving on without finishing

Think I made the right choice - just look at that opening!

Time for a change in speed. I raced through Gone Girl when it first came out and have had this on the shelves waiting for a while, hoping I will enjoy it just as much; not sure "enjoy" is the right word though ?

I had heard great things about this one and really wanted to like it but it just didn't work for me.
