The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls

Pickpick

This book is for people who want real world stories of hardship and perseverance. It will make you question yourself, and helps you to value simple amenities we take for granted everyday. The book developed into more serious issues; where before it was relished memories without the harsh reality. It really highlights hows the Walls children survived, and everyday it serves as a reminder to me. These opportunities I get in my life come easy.

Matthew.Wright Continued. Brian, Lori and Jeannette found success that their parents never worked for. Jeanette chases her dreams, and against all odds she works so hard and lives the American Dream. 3y
Matthew.Wright The POV is first person POV, because she uses “I,” or “we.” We get to hear her thoughts throughout the book, and we cannot hear the other characters thoughts. It‘s depicted through Jeannette‘s perspective. 3y
MissYaremcio Nicely done Matt! Thank you for finishing this assignment for me! 6/6 3y

She is going through different memories of growing up, showing how she was raised. All of these moments of how her life was unconventional. The way she was infatuated with fire, and it represents the light to which school will let thrive. Thus far the book is good and her stories are intriguing, making it a real page flipper.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Matt! I would have liked a little bit more on the summary - but overall great work! 5/6 3y

Harry Potter | JK Rowling

(The second part of my review)
J.k. Rowling uses dreams as a writing technique. Harry Potter has many dreams to tell of the future or what will happen like the through snakes and Voldemort.
The Point Of View is third person limited.

Harry Potter starts with him as an orphan who lives with his aunt and uncle, because his parents were killed. Harry is unloved in his new family, his life turns for the better and is famous in the wizard world, he is invited to Hogwarts, and he finds he is a wizard giving him a bright spot in his life. I was fond of the book I loved how the story formed it was very well written. If you want a good read I suggest it, there‘s something for everyone

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Matthew! Is this the one you were reading in class? I was just missing how the POV is established (it wasn‘t on your second post). 5/6 3y

*Motif part of the review*
It always showed the pitch count to show the stress of the stakes of the baseball game, let alone a perfect game because throwing a perfect game is a completely different beast. Those who throw one will be remembered if not for anything for that. there have been 218,400 official major league baseball games, and there has only been 23 perfect games ever. its amazing how much pressure is on a high ball count.

A book about the Seattle Mariners, covering the current state with tons off education about pitching, and history of the game, it‘s really great if you like pitching or baseball. Great care was taken when writing this, the guy loves the game. Great research done to inform the reader with the writers humour sprinkled in. He talks about growing up in Seattle and one of the best showcases of off speed pitches by the great Felix “king” Hernandez.

MissYaremcio Great review Matthew! I was just missing the motif and explanation of it! 3y
